For most applicants to the RCM’s exchange programme no formal proof of English language is required, although a level equivalent to CEFR B2 is recommended. Applicants for our full-year exchange programme (from Manhattan School of Music, Eastman School of Music and Sydney Conservatorium only) require a Student visa to study in the UK, and are required to hold an English qualification at CEFR B2 if they are not a native speaker. Audition requirements:
Performers should upload video recording(s) of repertoire of their choice, lasting approximately 15 – 20 minutes.
Composers should submit a portfolio of 2-3 works. Scores should be uploaded in pdf format in the Documents section of the application.

Document requirements:
All applicants are required to upload a transcript of their studies to date at their home institution, and a CV.
Applicants may also wish to submit proof of their English language qualification, but this is not compulsory at this point.
The RCM does not require Learning Agreements to be submitted at the application stage, these are normally processed following any offer of a place.
