Overview

Founded in 1976, Saint Louis is among the most renowned music didactic realities in European, counting more than 1,800 students per year coming from all Nations. It prides itself of a solid teaching staff made up of more than 120 tutors known both on a National and an International level, chaired by M° Stefano Mastruzzi.

In 2012, Saint Louis was enabled to issue Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees (1st and 2nd cycle), thanks to the decree of the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research, being the first private institution with this ability.

It has four venues in the heart of Rome. All buildings are a walking distance from one another and are located in Rome City Centre, a few steps from the Colyseum.

- 1st cycle Academic Degrees (BA) in: Jazz performance / Popular Music Performance / Song-writing / Electronic Music Composition / Sound Engineering and Music Technology / Composition and Film Scoring / Applied Music

- 2nd cycle Academic Degrees (MA) in: Jazz Performance /Jazz Composition and Arranging / Pop Performance

The Performance Department is represented by the academic professional degree courses (3-years 1st cycle Bachelor + 2nd cycle specialization biennium) for all instruments, in order to prepare future musicians, providing more than 2,000 hours of classes dedicated to the various instruments, harmony, arranging, ear training, improvisation, ensemble, big band, recording studio and focusing over the last years on the diploma project, a real artistic production in which the student plans, composes, arranges and produces in a real studio his/her first recording work for the Jazz Collection or the Urban 49 independent labels. Rich in work prospects is the 1st cycle Sound Engineering Academic Degree, created to develop a highly required professional role in the music market, both in recording studios and in radios, live clubs, festivals and television. Real pride of the school is the Composition and Film Scoring 1st cycle Academic Degree, which allows the student to study traditional composition and orchestration and also to implement virtual and electronic instruments and updated cinema sound production techniques. Every year, the students of the composition course have the extraordinary opportunity of listening to their own compositions performed by a professional symphonic orchestra in a live concert open to the audience which is a unique opportunity to deal with issues regarding orchestration.

In its 35 years of activity, worldwide known artists contribute to Saint Louis’s didactics with workshops and master classes. Accommodation

The accomodation service is organized by an agency that searches and selects suitable housing solutions, by real estate private market, for all Saint Louis students who need to rent a house or even a single part of it.

Private and selected accomodations, are available to rent with transparent conditions and a legal rental contract.

Every housing offer can be looked up on the website, on the specific school bulletin boards and also on the facebook page “Saint Louis Servizio Alloggi”

Students can benefit from Accomodation tutor service, in choosing houses, defining the rental contract and as a support during the whole rental period.
